The Best Summer Finds…Under $100!

Today marks the last day of July, which generally means the beginning of back to school shopping. However, that does not mean summer is officially over. It is usually during this time of year when a gal can score on some wicked summer deals. With that being said, I thought I would browse around and find some ultra chic pieces at incredibly low prices. What I truly love about all the items below is that they’re all completely versitile. They can be worn together to they can be worn separately. As you know, I’m a huge fan of flexibility, and any item which can be worn in different ways, is a winner in my sartorial book.

PETA Becomes Hermès Shareholder

Being an avid fashion enthusiast, it can be challenging to draw the morality line at certain points. After all, everyone knows the fashion industry isn’t based on a principle of ethics, what with it’s furs and and leather goods. With that being said, it’s difficult to imagine the legendary animal rights organization, PETA, indulging in such opulence. But fear not activists, PETA is not about to sell it’s soul for a pair of alligator booties. It was announced earlier this week that the iconic organization, famous for throwing red paint on fur-wearing individuals at Fashion Week, will become a shareholder in the luxury French label, Hermès. The news comes shortly after the label’s June public investigation, which raised questions regarding the brand’s usage of inhumane production practices. It was then reported shortly after, that Jane Birkin-who the label’s iconic “Birkin Bag” was named after-insisted that her name be removed from the crocodile item. It was reported that PETA plans to take action into their own hands, by purchasing a portion of the label’s shares in order to gain access to their shareholder meetings. According to PETA …

That 70’s Show

If you’ve been paying close attention to the trends coming out of NYFW, then you’d know that the 70’s are having their moment. Everything from fringed detailing, knee-high boots, and DVF’s iconic wrap dress have all played an incredibly important part in the overall look. But there’s only one item which has left me utterly astound, with tiny stars glistening in my light brown eyes. That particular look is none other than flared denim. If you’re familiar with the late 60’s and early 70’s, then you’re aware of the essential role flared denim played during that time. Everyone from Jane Birkin to Laura Hutton was spotted donning the look, looking every bit like the sophisticated 70’s queens they were. Shows such as Tory Burch and Creatures of the Wind all incorporated the look into their collections, with an underline bohemian vibe thrown in. Being a skinny jeans girl myself, I found it slightly hard to wrap my head around the overall trend. I like the fit of skinny jeans and the slimming effect the provide. …

My All-Time Favorite Halloween Costumes

Halloween happens to be my favorite time of year. C’mon, an entire day revolving around horror movies and candy? What’s not to love? But the problem is, I tend to wait last minute to do almost everything which includes picking out a Halloween costume. This leaves me with a limited selection of costumes choices to choose from, causing me to go as something idiotic. But if you’re anything like me, and tend to wait last minute to pick out a costume; fret no more. Alas, there’s a solution that slight predicament. Believe or not, you can actually create a totally chic Halloween costume with items you already have in your closet. Above are three examples of costumes I’ve worn in the past. My all-time favorite is going as a flapper. I’m totally obsessed with the 20’s, (hence, the title for my blog), and going as a flapper is my most favorite disguise. The first rule to pulling off this look is the dress. Everyone always chooses a dress with fringe detailing but I like to …
