I’m an avid television watcher. When I find a great series, which not only provokes interest, but also pushes the boundaries of the norm, I tend to get a little enthusiastic. I’ve even been known to ignore the responsibilities of life, and spend the day binging on my favorite shows. Don’t judge me. We’ve all been there. So, it’s only appropriate that I get excited when an award show celebrates that side of the entertainment industry. Enter, The Emmy‘s; an event which does just that. Last night was the 67th Annual Emmy’s, which honored profound talent within television. Although I tuned in late the the program, I was stuck doing laundry, I was still able to witness some incredible sartorial moments. Ahem, Kerry Washington in Marc Jacobs, anyone? With that being said, here are my top ten favorite looks from the night. Which looks made your list?
The Met Gala is like the fashion industry’s Academy Awards. Everyone, who is anyone, from Hollywood’s finest to Wall Street wonders, attend New York City’s most fashionable party of he year. This year’s theme was China: Through a Looking Glass. The benefit is paying homage to Chinese influence on Western fashion, and it was safe to say that everyone got the memo. It took awhile for me to figure out what exactly the theme was, and I’ll be honest in admitting that I was slightly confused at first glance. However, once I caught on, it made a lot more sense. Then again, fashion doesn’t necessarily have to make sense. It just has to look good. Which look was your overall favorite?
If you grew up watching Disney’s Cinderella on repeat, join the club. The enchanting tale about a girl, who, is rescued from her dismal life by a dashing prince, and then transformed into a princess; is the stuff dreams are made of. Although I was a fan of the film growing up, I’m was more of a Beauty and the Beast chick. But regardless of your tastes, it’s a film which everyone can relate to on some level. So if you were a fan, get ready to be swept away once more. There’s a new Cinderella on the scene, and her name is Lily James. It would appear that Ms. James or rather her stylist, has impeccable taste when it comes to clothing because almost everything she has worn on the red carpet; has been incredible. Of course, it’s almost impossible to pull off a ballgown as well as Cinderella, but if these stills, of James on the press tour for the film, are anything to go by; it would seem that Cinderella has got some …
There were so many gorgeous looks on the red carpet on Sunday but only a few made my list of “Top 5 Favorite Looks”
My ultimate favorite looks from the 21st Annual SAG Awards!
I absolutely adore Fridays. There’s a particular excitement in the air which tends to envelop everyone in it’s vicinity. Perhaps it’s the weekend which follows or something entirely different. Either way, Fridays are definitely my favorite day or the week. One reason for this unadulterated love is primarily the fact we get to see what everyone wore throughout the week, and choose which of individual pulled it off correctly. This week was no different. In fact, it was magnificent! When it came to couture, these celebrities pulled it off beautifully. Whether it was Zoe Saldana in Lanvin or Elle Fanning in Christopher Kane; it’s becoming apparent that celebrities are becoming quite good at donning designer duds. As if anyone was skeptical to begin with. 1. Emma Roberts in Tanya Taylor skirt & Houghton crop top. 2. Zoe Saldana in Lanvin. 3. Nicola Peltz in Prada. 4. Chole Grace Mortez in Valentino. 5. Elle Fanning in Christopher Kane. 6. Ashley Madekwe in Dior. 7. Katie Holmes in Katie Holmes for Nina Ricci. 8. Rachel McAdams in Zuhair Murad
Fashion is universal and it appears everyone has their own take on it. Last night was the annual Met Gala Ball which is pretty much the fashion equivalent of the Oscars. This year, the Met Gala celebrated the newly renovated Anna Wintour Costume Center in NYC and it seemed everyone who mattered was on the attendee’s list. It’s the same every year, fashion’s finest get dolled up and head out in their best custom-made couture. But this year it seemed as if fashion’s finest upped their game once again. Below are just a couple of my favorite’s from the memorable night. Which one tickles your fancy?
