One Jacket, Two Ways

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have more exciting plans than I do. Recently, my Friday nights have consisted of Chinese takeout and multiple hours of Netflix screening. What can I say, endless episodes of Orange is the New Black have me hooked. Since I haven’t done one of these in awhile, I thought it was about time I started it back up. For this “One Item, Two Ways” post, I decided to use a 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket which I think goes perfectly with almost anything in ones closet. I chose to do a West Coast, East Thing since I’m a fan of both styles. Preferably, I feel that the West Coast has a more casual feel to it which is exactly how I styled it. Living in the East Coast, I’ve noticed one’s idea of “casual” is a bit more sophisticated. Either way, I love the outcome of both and would totally wear either one.

All Choked Up: Winter’s Hottest Trend is A Chic Throwback to The 90’s

Throughout the years we’ve seen trends come and go. Some were excitingly chic while other’s weren’t as memorable. One winter trend that has been causing a riot is the return of the ever-so-chic choker. You might have thought the trend dies out like most trends from the 90’s but you be wrong. This time around the trend takes on more than just the simplistic piece of thread around one’s neck. As seen on 2014 Pre-Fall runway shows such as Hermès and YSL, the choker’ has being reinvented with colorful jewels and beautiful pendants. For a gal that was born in the midst of the 90’s, this particular trend is one I would be willing to stick my neck out for; pun intended! Runway Inspiration: Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013

Runway Inspiration: Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013 by sandrarose featuring river island I’m always searching for inspiration when putting together outfits. My friends 23rd birthday is coming up and I’ve been searching for something fabulous. When I glanced at this picture from Jason Wu’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection, I might have almost fainted. The talented designer has been a great favorite of mine for sometime now and for good reason. The original outfit is beautiful if not gorgeous but I wanted to add a bit of my own touch. So rather than black sequined pants, I went for gold instead which I think goes perfectly with the black top. I couldn’t find a back halter top with a bow for under $100 so I just decided to add a bowtie instead which adds a bit of masculinity to the whole outfit. I decided not to add jewelry because I feel the clutch and pants are enough. The entire outfit rings in at $151 which is cheaper than the actual itself. If you have any designer outfits that have inspired …

Obsessed Over…

Obsessed Over… by sandrarose featuring a leather shoulder bag Obsession is an emotion I’m relatively familiar with. I obsess over everything really. Bronte novels, strawberry frosted cupcakes, toe socks, you name it; I’m obsessing over it. But when something comes along that truly worth my obsession, I go a little crazy. My favorite item on this list would have to be the Seaberry Oil from Fresh. I did a post on it a couple months ago and have fallen head over heels in love with this product. I usually use it for my face and it give me a dewy glow which is perfect for this crazy D.C weather that has enveloped the district. Recently, I stumped my foot on a my couch because that’s just the extremely clumsy person I am. Regardless, I ended up receiving a horrible cut which resulted into a horrendous scar which didn’t look to hot on my ankle when it came time for heels. So me being the incredibly smart person I am (and not wanting to go all the way to CVS at …
