H&M Collaborates With Balmain

H&M has done it again, and by it, I mean a magical collaboration. This time around, the trendy retailer is jumping in bed with none other than, drum roll please, BALMAIN!! For those of you who do not know, Balmain is a haute coutoure fashion house, founded in 1914 by Pierre Balmain. Between His father’s drapery business and his mother and sister’s fashion boutique, Balmain developed an eye for design quickly. So, of course, it’s no wonder that H&M is choosing the brand, (which is a favorite to the likes of Kim Kardashian and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), to create couture magic with. It is no doubt that the collection will be highly anticipated by every fashionista on the planet, and for good reason. Oliver Rousteing’s collections are truly marks of art. The bold colors, patterns, and dramatic shoulders are hopefully some signature marks that will be carried over into the H&M collection. This collaboration will truly be interesting to watch unfold, especially for fans who have been following the brand mature over the year’s. Rousteing himself stated, “I want …

That 70’s Show

If you’ve been paying close attention to the trends coming out of NYFW, then you’d know that the 70’s are having their moment. Everything from fringed detailing, knee-high boots, and DVF’s iconic wrap dress have all played an incredibly important part in the overall look. But there’s only one item which has left me utterly astound, with tiny stars glistening in my light brown eyes. That particular look is none other than flared denim. If you’re familiar with the late 60’s and early 70’s, then you’re aware of the essential role flared denim played during that time. Everyone from Jane Birkin to Laura Hutton was spotted donning the look, looking every bit like the sophisticated 70’s queens they were. Shows such as Tory Burch and Creatures of the Wind all incorporated the look into their collections, with an underline bohemian vibe thrown in. Being a skinny jeans girl myself, I found it slightly hard to wrap my head around the overall trend. I like the fit of skinny jeans and the slimming effect the provide. …

The Cutest Holiday Gifts UNDER $50

Ah, it’s that time a year again. The malls are cramped with endless crowds, the streets are covered with twinkly lights, and your extended family has set up camp in your shoebox of an apartment. Yes, the holiday season has commenced, and fortunately enough for me; they happen to be my utmost favorite time of year. But sadly enough, some individuals don’t share my immense adoration for the most magical time of year, and that’s totally understandable. For some, the holidays can be one, enormous hunk of chaos. Especially when it comes to gifting. But fear not, I’m here to inform you that gifting doesn’t have to be so exhausting. In fact, with the right guide (ahem, myself!) gifting can actually be quite exciting. With the holidays just around the corner, I’ve complied a list of some of my favorite gift ideas all under $50. Yup, you heard me correctly. So if you’re on a budget this season, and don’t want to be that individual who gives socks, (you know who you are), merely take …

5 Spring Dresses Under $100

We can all agree that dresses are a key staple for spring apparel. And if you’re anything like me; then you understand how important it is to look fabulous without breaking the bank. Even though I have an immense love for luxury brands, you won’t find me in Saks or Barney’s every weekend shopping like a Kardashian. Instead, you can find me scouring local thrift stores and flea markets for unique and original pieces at an incredible deal. Despite what you might think, it is actually possible to score  fabulous clothing at a stellar price. You just have to know where to look. So I’ve searched the web for the most stylish dresses at a reasonable price. What I came up with is a collection of chic dresses that will you completely speechless. Enjoy!

One Jacket, Two Ways

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have more exciting plans than I do. Recently, my Friday nights have consisted of Chinese takeout and multiple hours of Netflix screening. What can I say, endless episodes of Orange is the New Black have me hooked. Since I haven’t done one of these in awhile, I thought it was about time I started it back up. For this “One Item, Two Ways” post, I decided to use a 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket which I think goes perfectly with almost anything in ones closet. I chose to do a West Coast, East Thing since I’m a fan of both styles. Preferably, I feel that the West Coast has a more casual feel to it which is exactly how I styled it. Living in the East Coast, I’ve noticed one’s idea of “casual” is a bit more sophisticated. Either way, I love the outcome of both and would totally wear either one.
