Ladylike Wonder at Carolina Herrera S/S 16′

Precisely. Ladylike wonder is exactly the response I receive from witnessing Carolina Herrera‘s S/S 16’ collection. Merely take a peek for yourself and it’s clear to understand how I arrived at that resolution. Herrera is no stranger when it comes to creating elegant and stylish pieces. One might say she’s the female equivalent to Oscar de la Renta. Taking place inside the beautiful Frick Collection museum, conveniently on the corner of 5th Avenue,  Herrera unveiled a collection worthy of such a venue. Both modern and flirty, Herrera’s collection featured day dresses crafted from tulle, pastel pleated skirts, and bold embroidered sets, all while incorporating a high-tech method, which consisted of sheer and mesh detailing. This exact aesthetic is what gave the collection a sporty meets graceful appeal. Overall, the collection was nothing if not quintessential Herrera; sophisticated and empowered. Rebecca Taylor S/S 2016

Ruffles, florals, and crochet; oh my! Although autumn is moments away from making it’s much anticipated return, it’s spring which has everyone buzzing. Especially, since it’s the spring 2016 collections which are being celebrated at New York Fashion Week. Ah, yes, the fashion event of the season has finally return, and boy; did it make an entrance! Let us start with one of my favorites, Rebecca Taylor. A fan of feminine, yet, edgy pieces; Taylor did not disappoint during the unveiling of her S/S 2016 collection. Some might actually call it the quintessential spring collection.  It’s no secret that florals can be overwhelming. Take it from someone who wears them on a continual basis. But somehow, Taylor makes it all look effortlessly chic. In fact, they were the main staple in most of the looks in the collection. The overall collection appeared like something out of a heavenly paradise. With an array of ruffled tunics, crochet maxi dresses, floral-printed trousers, and the occasional pantsuit, Taylor definitely brought her A-game to Fashion Week. View the entire collection here!

Everything You Need To Know About The Apple and Hermès Collaboration

I have yet to purchase the innovative Apple Watch. (GASPS!) But before you judge me, allow me to tell you the reason behind my decision. You see, the truth of the matter is, I don’t wear a watch. Never have, and likely, never will. Apart from the occasional gold cuff or bangle, I don’t really like have anything surrounding my wrists. Not to mention, I’ve never seen the purpose behind wearing a watch. I’ve actually gotten use to the idea of checking my phone whenever I need to identify the time. Besides, have you seen those Apple watches? What am I saying? Of course you’ve seen them. You are, after all, a member of the 21st century. They’re not exactly what I would refer to as “stylish”. If only there was a way to make the watches appear fashionable, rather than a high-tech gadget which resembles something out of Inspector Gadget’s toolbox. Luckily, my prayers have been answered. During yesterday’s conference in San Francisco, Apple announced that they have collaborated with the French brand, Hermès, to promote …

Best Looks From The 2015 Venice Film Festival

Each year, much like the Oscars, celebrities gather together to appreciate well-crafted films. Only, rather than an extensive red carpet along Hollywood Blvd, this particular event takes place on a marshy lagoon, where stone palaces see to rise out of the Adriatic Sea. The place is Venice, Italy and the event is the Venice Film Festival. And, although the films are nothing less than exceptional, it’s the impeccable fashion which truly  catches one’s eye. Simply think of it as a more cultured, less starchy Academy Awards. So, without further delay, I thought I would introduce you a few of my favorite looks from the entire event.

The Row is Relocating To Paris

I’ve always been a huge fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I literally use to own every film they ever made, and watch it on replay as a child. Don’t judge, I was six-years-old. My affinity for the sisters only grew stronger when they created their first clothing line, The Row, back in 2006, followed by Elizabeth and James shortly after. When it was announced that the sisters wouldn’t be showcasing their new season this year at NYFW, I almost had a heart attack. Not really, of course. I like to consider myself rather healthy. But fret not Olsen fans, the sisters aren’t retiring from the fashion industry. That would simply be unheard of. They’re merely relocating to the city of light, Paris. Seems only realistic considering it’s where the greats such as Chanel, Givenchy, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Balenciaga were first situated. This won’t be the first time the sisters relocated their brand to Pairs. Back in 2011, the brand showcased their S/S 15′ collection, only to move back to NYC when  the samples weren’t able …

Best Dressed at 2015 VMA’s

Anything goes at the VMA‘s. That much is evident considering who the night’s host was. No, I’m not going to list all of Miley Cyrus‘s outrageous outfits. That is an entirely different post requiring far more stamina than I have on this Sunday evening. Instead, I’ll keep it simple and list all the outfits which I truly loved. Although, to be fair, Miley’s wardrobe did provoke an abundance of interest. Who could forget that, er, slight wardrobe malfunction? Yeah, we thought so. So, without further delay, let’s get to the good stuff. If you didn’t see your favorite look below, feel free to comment and let me know!

Stella McCartney Decision to No Longer Use Patagonian Wool

In the past, sustainable fashion was hard to come by. In fact, some might have referred to it as a mere myth. It’s understandable considering the difficulty in distinguishing a moral compass in the fashion industry. In a world which is strictly dominated by appearance, the last thing on anyone’s mind is sustainability. However, if you look close enough, you might just be able to uncover a few designers which merge both. One of those being none other than Stella McCartney, daughter to Paul. If you follow the talented designer’s career, you would know that McCartney is practically a pioneer for stylish eco-friendly fashion. Being an advocate for animal rights, as as well as a vegetarian herself, sustainable fashion comes naturally to the British designer. In an extremely graphic video, which was released last Thursday by PETA, McCartney discovered ongoing violence at Orvis 21; the designer’s Argentina wool supplier. McCartney was rightfully appalled and took to Instagram to express herself. “I am very saddened to report that we have had to cease sourcing some of our sustainable wool …
