Lily-Rose Depp Announces Her “Sexual Fluidity” in Instagram Post

Some might think celebrity children have it easy. But famous or not, being a teenager is tough. What with studying for exams, identity crisis, relationships, and choosing which college to apply to, being a teenager in the twenty-first century has proven to be challenging. Gone are the idealistic images of 1950’s, where every situation could be solved with an ice-cream cone or an episode of Leave It To Beaver. When you factor in struggling with your sexuality, the complications of being teenager only escalate. Especially when you have to fight that battle within the public eye. But one individual, whose parents are no strangers to the public eye, is joining the ongoing battle to banish sexuality labels. I speak of course, of Lily-Rose Depp. Daughter of Johnny Depp? Captain Sparrow? Ringing any bells here? Anyways, the incredibly wise, and brave, 16-year-old, took to Instagram on Monday afternoon, and posted a heartfelt picture for photographer iO Tillett Wright‘s Self Evident Project. For those who aren’t as familiar with the site, it “exists to spread awareness and understanding about a broader spectrum of human sexuality.” …

My Decision Not To Attend College

$1 trillion: it’s a hell of a lot of money. It is also the number of unpaid student debt within the U.S. Makes a person question whether or not they truly want to enroll, huh? Plain and simple; I didn’t go to college. There, I said it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for broadening your education. In fact, there was a time when I truly wanted to attend. I had obtained a hefty file, filled with a colorful collective of college applications. Every application from NYU to Harvard adorned the interior of a unicorn embellished folder, which remained tucked away in my desk. But somewhere between adolescence and womanhood, that protruding urge to continue my education somehow evaporated. The insufficient teacher’s salary my mother earned wasn’t going to be much of assistance with my college education and the small amount of money I earned through babysitting wasn’t going to help either. My grades were sufficient but they weren’t enough to earn me the title of genius and although I enjoyed being on the track …

Taylor Swift Channels Old School Glamour on Vanity Fair’s September Cover

I’m a fan of many things. However, there aren’t many which can cause me to hyperventilate with excitement. I save those particular fancies for a very special list. I like to refer to this list as “My Hyperventilation List”. Clever right? Among this list are retro bicycles, strawberry cupcakes, structured handbags, and Taylor Swift. So it’s only appropriate that  literally lost my nerve with adoration when I glimpsed at Taylor’s cover for the September issue of Vanity Fair. Tay Tay-as I like to refer to her-has become one to watch in the fashion industry. What with her vintage-meets-modern ensembles. She kills it on every red carpet she walks and provokes envy from her stellar street style. For her cover shoot with Vanity Fair, shot by legendary photographer Mario Testino, Swift channeled a lightly different look. Donning elegant gowns along with chunks of gold jewelry, Swift appeared like something out of a chic 70’s flick. The image of Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface comes to mind. But perhaps that’s one of Swift’s major gifts. Hah, it rhymes! She has the …

What Does the Future Hold For Planned Parenthood?

Being the creator of a lifestyle blog catered to women, I like to consider myself an advocate for woman and the rights which involve them. Not only because I’m a woman myself, but because equality in general is a topic which seems to be ignored quite frequently. When it was announced that there was a bill in the works to defund Planned Parenthood, you could only imagine my extreme irritability, not to mention confusion. For those of you who aren’t aware, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is one of the largest organizations which provide reproductive, maternal and child health services, with a large majority being women. The idea that someone would want to discontinue such a valued service is something of a mystery to me. So you could imagine my relief when the bill was not passed. It would seem that the Republican voters needed at least 60 votes in order to proceed, but only obtained 53. The bill, which was sponsored by Republican Sen. Joni Ernst, was expected to be dud from the beginning. It was then …

Why Cara Delevingne’s Behavior on Good Day Sacramento Needs No Explanation

If you follow pop culture-or have moderate working wifi in your home- you would have already witnessed model/actress Cara Delevingne‘s cringe-worthy interview on Good Day Sacramento. Since the interview, many of have gone on to belittle Cara, referring to her as “rude” and “snobbish”. However, one only needs to view the interview below, to understand why Delevingne behaved the way she did. Now, I am not a supporter of bad behavior nor do I condone it for any reason whatsoever. I was brought up with an array of manners at my disposal and was continuously taught to be polite to every individual I encounter. Mind you, I am only human and there are times when I simply do not feel like being the poster child for politeness. So sue me. I can only imagine actors and actresses feel somewhat similarly. Especially when they’re forced to sit through countless of interviews, answering the exact same questions. Not mention, when the person conducting the interview can’t remember your correct name and continues to behave condescendingly. Mix all of those components together and you’re …

Sarah Palin Compares Lena Dunham to Josh Dugger

Just when you think the world was ridden of Sarah Palin‘s ludicrous antics, she pushes through with a whole, new collective of idiocy. During an explosive Twitter rant on Thursday night, Sarah and daughter, Bristol, (you know the one who got inprexgnanted when she was merely sixteen), blasted negative responses in defense of Josh Dugger‘s molestation scandal. If you’re unaware, or have merely been living under a rock for the past two weeks, it was reported that Josh Dugger, a member of the Dugger family and television series, 19 Kids and Counting, was accused of molesting five girls, four of which were his sisters. The incidents apparently occurred when Dugger was a teenager, and has led to the cancelation of the show. During an interview with Fox News host, Megyn Kelly, which aired on Fox last night, parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar said they were “devastated”, and described the molestation as “improper touching”, because we all know that’s just a fancy term to explain molestation. After the interview aired, there was a complete uproar on Twitter, leaving …

Call Me Caitlyn: Bruce Jenner Fully Transitions Into a Female

It’s virtually impossible to be uninformed on what goes on inside The Kardashian household. What with social media, and a popular reality show, there seems to be no hiding place for The Kardashian’s nowadays, and many would argue; that;s just the way they prefer it. However, when it was reported last year, that Bruce Jenner, a member of the infamous Kardashian clan, would be undergoing a gender reassignment surgery, many speculated whether such an ordeal was yet another publicity stunt or mere fact. As it turned out, it was the ladder. Once it was officially confirmed, Bruce Jenner, now known as Caitlyn Jenner, took to television last month, to explain his decision on a two-hour special with Diane Sawyer. Once the special aired, it was evident that Jenner was not just another Gold medal Olympian, but a man who appeared to be suffering with a substantial secret and had to endure it for a great deal amount of time. “Bruce always had to tell a lie” Caitlyn explained to Vanity Fair, in a new issue which hits stands today “He …
