Stylish Spring Essentials, All Under $100

Alas, spring has finally commenced. Flowers are blooming, the weather is warming up, and even the birds are sounding more cheerful. But that could just be my creative imagination. Another spring essential worth discussing, is wardrobe. If you’re anything like me, saving money is a necessity. With that being said, it can be extremely difficult updating  your wardrobe for spring. But fear not penny pinchers. All one needs, is to know where to look. With being said, I’ve uncovered five, chic items, which will transform your look for spring in a cinch. Oh, and did I mention? They’re all under $100!

A New Type of Birkenstock

While I was scanning through the numerous S/S 14′ RTW collections, I noticed a reoccurring theme. Models were no longer strutting down the runway in 7 inch heels. Instead, they’re appeared to be wearing what looked like Birkenstock sandals. No, that is not a typo you just read. Every runway from Céline to Givenchy, models appeared to have resorted from gorgeous snakeskin heels to sporty, Birkenstock-like sandals. It would appear that this particular runway craze has turned into a full on Spring trend. Now I’m not 100% ready to toss my heels aside just yet. However, I will say that the trend is slightly more comfortable than my pair of 6-inch Manolo’s. And I guess if brands like Marni and Giambatista Vali are among the many to get behind the trend, then it has to be chic right?   From Top Left: Silver Sandals, ASOS $56, Black Active Sandals, New Balance $32, White Leather Slide Sandals, Senso $240, Snakeskin Buckle Sandal, River Island, Holden Leather Sandal, Isabael Marant $510, Snakeskin Pool Slide Sandal, TopShop $35, …

Three Ways to Wear Leather

If you’ve picked up any fashion magazine September issues then you would be well aware of the huge trends to come this fall season. One of those trends happens to come in the form of an edgy yet sexy appearance; leather. Featured in almost every fall collection from 3.1 Phillip Lim to Alexander Wang, this fall staple is quickly gaining praise. But some of you out there might be a bit cautious to try the ultra-chic trend. Don’t fret! Luckily I’ve complied three ways to feature the trend into your ensemble. Weather you like to add just a touch of it or go overboard and be drenched head to toe; incorporating leather into your outfit should be effortlessly chic! (From Left: White Long-sleeved Crop-top-Mink Pink $125 (Out of Stock), Quilted Leather Skirt-Topshop $80, Premium Platinum Necklace-Topshop $80, Nude Sandals-ASOS $75, Trousers-J.Crew $168, Bonded Lace Crop Top-Warehouse $23, Cobalt Blazer-Paul Smith $1,260, Black Pumps-Rupert Sanderson $595, Iridescent Messenger Bag-Zara $36, Leather Shift Dress-Miu Miu $1,675, Opulent Necklace-Matthew Williamson $825, Ankle Booties-Rupert Sanderson $1,125)

Look for Less: Chloe Spring RTW 2013

My endless love for the Parisian brand Chloe is indescribable. This is why I’ve decided to choose a look from their S/S 2013 collection and not only make it affordable but also my own. I’ve chosen this particular look because it’s fun and perfect for those last couple days of summer. As it’s starting to cool off a bit pants are becoming easier to wear. I personally like mine cropped at the ankle as well as tailored. The pants I chose are from Paul and Joe and they’re probably the most expensive item among the list at $259. I found an almost identical crop top shirt from River Island for only $12 which in my opinion is a complete steal. I chose to ditch the pointed toe flats and opted for these fun sandals from ASOS for only $30. I thought the smidge of yellow really meshed well together with the red and black. I added a simple gold necklace from Topshop and a nude, chain strap purse from a U.K store originally titled Rare London. …

June Wish-List!

June Wish-List! by sandrarose featuring asos Happy June everyone! June happens to be one of my favorite months because it’s that first month in summer when all possibilities are possible! I always feel once 4th of July is over, so is summer. That’s why I love June because it’s the start of summer and everything feels new and fresh. For this wish-list I kept things a bit simple because that’s pretty much how I love my clothing in summer. It can get extremely hot in the city here in the District so less is always preferred. I keep my fabrics light and patterns minimum. I usually like a lot of whites and nudes with maybe a bit of color thrown in every now and then. Although there are a couple of patterns above, I just couldn’t resist myself. That tribal inspired vest from Zara was just a complete must-have. Enjoy the beginning of summer and always feel free to send me your favorites must-haves for the month of June! xx Sandra Stucco Stripped Dress-Madwell $115 Mirrored Vest-Zara $90 Nude …
