There were many incredible collections to come out of NYFW this year. I mean who could forget that beautiful scene over at Oscar de la Renta? Talk about genius, the man can do no wrong. So, if you asked me to choose one particular show, which I valued above all the others, you would be wise to call me insane. Seeing how no sane human being could simply pick one. But despite the fact that there was something in every show which I enjoyed, there was one which I enjoyed a little more than the others. The talented creations of Mr. Phillip Lim. It seems that every year Mr. Lim unveils a new collection, I’m consistently raving about how amazing it was. This is because the man is simply infused with talent. Talent which is untouchable by any other. This year, every piece which was featured in Lim’s SS15 collection appeared to be specifically designed with me in mind. Seriously, it was like the designer personally called me up and asked what I wanted in a spring/summer …
1. J.W Anderson $309, 2. Band of Outsiders $995, 3. 3.1 Phillip Lim $475, 4. Carven $780, 5. Dolce & Gabbana $1,595, 6. Gorjana & Griffin $45, LeiVanKash $435
One of my favorite trends to look forward to this spring is none other than the wide-leg trouser. As I predicted a few weeks ago, this trend was sure to be huge come spring 2014, and sure enough; they were seen everywhere during Paris Fashion Week. The trend is a slight throwback to old Hollywood glamour. Think Katherine Hepburn meets Veronica Lake. To celebrate this particular trend, I’ve decided to compile three looks which incorporates the trend altogether. Which is your favorite?
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have more exciting plans than I do. Recently, my Friday nights have consisted of Chinese takeout and multiple hours of Netflix screening. What can I say, endless episodes of Orange is the New Black have me hooked. Since I haven’t done one of these in awhile, I thought it was about time I started it back up. For this “One Item, Two Ways” post, I decided to use a 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket which I think goes perfectly with almost anything in ones closet. I chose to do a West Coast, East Thing since I’m a fan of both styles. Preferably, I feel that the West Coast has a more casual feel to it which is exactly how I styled it. Living in the East Coast, I’ve noticed one’s idea of “casual” is a bit more sophisticated. Either way, I love the outcome of both and would totally wear either one.
Now that NYFW has finally started, we can finally get an idea of what will be trending this spring. One look that appears to be evident in most collections is the look of mesh. With a vibe that’s both sporty and sophisticated, this particular trend is by far one of my favorites. But some of you might be a little hesitate as to how you can wear the look without appearing as if your heading to gym class. No need to fret. Incorporating this ultra-chic look into your wardrobe is a lot easier than you might think. It’s all about choosing the right amount of mesh you would like to showcase. After all, you don’t want to look like a fisherman. Above are three examples I’ve complied together on how you can simply include the look into your outfit. Enjoy! One spring’s hottest trends is filled with structured silhouettes and graphic prints. Seen all over spring runways such 3.1 Phillip Lim, Erdem, Balenciaga, and Prabal Gurung, this trend is extraterrestrial chic! From Left: Neon Sunnies, Net-A-Porter $55, Black and White Trousers, Proenza Schouler $345, Graphic Sweater, CYFASHIONC $99, Colorblock Dress, Stella McCartney $787, Jacket, 3.1 Phillip Lim $1,105, Python Clutch, ZAGLIANI $1,304, Necklace, Topshop $28, Skirt, Ostwald Hellgason $585, Heels, Jeffrey Campbell $119
Even though winter has just begun, I’ve got autumn on my mind. As much as I adore spring, I can’t help but love fall even more. One reason in particular is the intense amount of fashion that goes hand in hand with the season. I’ll admit that despite my complete love for floral dresses and pastel hues, there’s nothing I love more than the humdrum simplicity of basic silhouettes and muted colors which are so ever present come fall. Just glancing at the many Pre-Fall 2014 collections gets me excited for fall and makes we want it to arrive sooner. Bit since we have precisely 7 more months to go until the arrival of September, I decided to compile a list of some the best Pre-Fall looks to satisfy me until then. Enjoy!
