Fifth Black Female Prisoner to Be Found Dead in Jail Cell

It’s never easy to unveil saddening news, let alone write about it. Perhaps that is why this particular post is somewhat difficult for me to construct. If you’ve been following the story pertaining to the deaths of the four African American female prisoners, then you would be informed regarding the details. Unfortunately it would seem that there has been a fifth victim of late; Ryanette Turner. Turner, a 42-year-old wife and mother of eight, was reportedly found dead in her jail cell in Mount Vernon, N.Y. Tuner is just the fifth victim to have been found dead in her cell this month, producing an array of unanswered questions. Turner, who was arrested on Saturday due to shoplifting charges. She had been placed in a holding cell to await arraignment. According to the New York Times, Turner was taken to the hospital on Sunday, due to reports that she was not feeling well. She had been brought back shortly after, only to have been found in her cell unconscious on Monday afternoon. The cause of death is still unknown …

Call Me Caitlyn: Bruce Jenner Fully Transitions Into a Female

It’s virtually impossible to be uninformed on what goes on inside The Kardashian household. What with social media, and a popular reality show, there seems to be no hiding place for The Kardashian’s nowadays, and many would argue; that;s just the way they prefer it. However, when it was reported last year, that Bruce Jenner, a member of the infamous Kardashian clan, would be undergoing a gender reassignment surgery, many speculated whether such an ordeal was yet another publicity stunt or mere fact. As it turned out, it was the ladder. Once it was officially confirmed, Bruce Jenner, now known as Caitlyn Jenner, took to television last month, to explain his decision on a two-hour special with Diane Sawyer. Once the special aired, it was evident that Jenner was not just another Gold medal Olympian, but a man who appeared to be suffering with a substantial secret and had to endure it for a great deal amount of time. “Bruce always had to tell a lie” Caitlyn explained to Vanity Fair, in a new issue which hits stands today “He …

Paving The Way: The 411 on Presidential Candidate Hilary Clinton

Hillary Clinton, don’t  worry, this is not going to be yet another political campaign article. Rather, an article that shows the many different sides of democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton’s movement for women’s equal rights. Now, take away the name Hillary Clinton and just imagine an ordinary woman from Chicago, Illinois. A young woman, who was inspired by the words of Martin Luther King Jr; to better the world for all ages, gender, and race. A woman, who out of college, worked in a canning factory in Alaska, has been on both sides of political campaigns, and has developed, and advocated for Civil Rights; during a time that, that did not seem possible. Without the name, Clinton seems like an ordinary United States citizen. Being in the spot light since 1978, Hillary Clinton has worn many hats but has always been involved with public service. Clinton has always been in a man’s world, and grew up in a time; when being a woman was considered, “a disability.” In the beginning, Clinton wanted to be an astronaut …

How Celebs Do Coachella

If you’re a celebrity, it’s fairly obvious that you have the world at your feet. You get first pick of the latest fashion collections, you’re given access to the trendiest nightclubs and restaurants, and you get to travel at the drop of a hat whenever you want to. Let’s face it, if you’re a celebrity, you’ve got it pretty darn good. Another great thing about being a celeb, music festivals. Okay, perhaps one doesn’t need to be a celebrity to attend, or enjoy, a music festival. But the experience is probably escalated when you are one. As any music devote well knows, the annual Coachella music festival kicked off this past weekend, with a boat load of music acts and celebrities galore. Famous faces such as Kendall Jenner, Robert Pattinson, Katy Perry, Gigi Hadid, and even a fist-pumping Leo DiCaprio, were all spotted at the beloved California festival. With that many celeb’s, who knows what shenanigans went down.

The Origination of My Obsession With River Phoenix

In 1993, Bill Clinton was inaugurated as the 42nd President, Whitney Houston‘s “I Will Always Love You” was #1 on the charts, and an introspective 23-year-old actor, by the name of River Phoenix, passed away from a lethal drug overdose; outside Johnny Depp’s nightclub, The Viper Room.  I was only two at the time, and therefore was not aware of the momentous effect the tragic news bared. It wasn’t until I turned fifteen, when I became properly acquainted with the actor, whose talent knew no bounds. It was a frigid Friday night in January, and I was sleeping over a friends house, when, while flipping through the channels, I came upon a film titled My Own Private Idaho. But it wasn’t the film which caused me to pause my fervent channel surfing. It was the mysterious, blonde stranger, with the intense blue gaze, and the hoarsely-warm drawl. The animated emotions, which I was experiencing in that moment, had not been encountered since I was seven, when I first watched Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. Oh, Jack Dawson, how your rough winds still …
