Why Obama and Biden’s Friendship Is One To Be Admired

Friendships. They are the what make the world a little more tolerable. Without them, life would be an overall dull existence. Good friends, the kind worth having, will always be around to brighten your day when you feel as though the world around you is slowly crumbling to pieces. They’re the ones who will give it to you straight, without an ounce of hesitation, and always have your back when you need a solid exterior to lean on. One friendship which epitomizes all these characteristics, is none other than our President and Vice President, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Throughout the last eight years, the world has watched the friendship between these two evolve into something altogether special and unique. As our nation bids farewell to both individuals, let us look back on some reasons why their friendship is one to be admired and remembered for a long time to come. 1. They Aren’t Afraid To Declare Their Love For One Another Remember the time when our President sat down and crafted a pair of …

Top Must-Haves For Fall

Fall is almost here and that means major fashion trends.  While scarves and pumpkin flavor everything are essentials to any fashionista,  it’s the fashion trends which us gals truly pay attention to once the leaves have left their trees. With that being said, we thought we’d list a few of our favorites which we are completely obsessed with. Maybe it’s just me, but I believe in minimal pieces during the fall.  Nothing too layered or anything that holds me back from trying to outrun the cold. Poncho, Dolce & Gabbana $3,675 The poncho is such a statement in itself. However, the trend can be somewhat tricky to pull off without resembling Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of Dollars. No need to fret, simply pair the look with some knee-high boots, black leggings, a structured bag, and a long sleeve shirt. I love this fringed version from Dolce & Gabbana because it’s so incredibly luxurious and stylish. Ankle Boots, Acne Studios $560 Comfotable and fashionable! These have always been an essential in my fall wardrobe. I especially love this burgundy pair, from Acne Studios, because …

The Denim Mini Gets A Chic Update

Remember high school? Yeah, I prefer to forget it as well. But let us dwell on the sartorial side of our youth rather than the negative. As a teenager, there was one item in my closet which I wore on continuum; the denim mini. Growing up, it was like the LBD equivalent for my fellow peers. It was versatile and easy to style. Flash forward to 2015 and the denim mini is still relevant, only now, it has a more elegant appearance. It’s no secret that trends return with time. We only need to look to bell bottoms to figure that one out. But although time has past, one might be wondering how to style such a look in order to make it look modern. Worry no more. Below I’ve created a stylish ensemble using a chic denim mini, which I found at H&M for only $39. It is a casual take on the look but I believe it is perfect for autumn. Once the weather gets more chilly, add a structured coat and some opaque …

Trials and Tribulations Of A Cyclist

Cyclists; it seems as though they’re everywhere. You’ve probably noticed them around your neighborhood one too many times. Clad in tights, sporting a helmet atop their head, straddling some top of the line bicycle. I’m proud to admit I’m among the large percentage of those individuals, minus the tights. I take pride in my baby blue cruiser with an adorable basket in the front. Seeing how I was born and raised in D.C, I never got around to learning how to drive. What with public transportation surrounding the city, it seemed redundant to learn. However, with metro being what it is today, biking seems to be the only reliable way to get around the city. Not to mention it’s the ultimate way to burn calories. But lately, riding around town seems to becoming slightly more dangerous. The reason for this is the unpredictability of drivers. I have had four close encounters with an oncoming car within the past two weeks. Which, if you’ve experienced, is extremely unnerving. Now, I’m familiar with the understanding that biking in the city can be extremely tumultuous. This is why I’ve taken …

Call Me Caitlyn: Bruce Jenner Fully Transitions Into a Female

It’s virtually impossible to be uninformed on what goes on inside The Kardashian household. What with social media, and a popular reality show, there seems to be no hiding place for The Kardashian’s nowadays, and many would argue; that;s just the way they prefer it. However, when it was reported last year, that Bruce Jenner, a member of the infamous Kardashian clan, would be undergoing a gender reassignment surgery, many speculated whether such an ordeal was yet another publicity stunt or mere fact. As it turned out, it was the ladder. Once it was officially confirmed, Bruce Jenner, now known as Caitlyn Jenner, took to television last month, to explain his decision on a two-hour special with Diane Sawyer. Once the special aired, it was evident that Jenner was not just another Gold medal Olympian, but a man who appeared to be suffering with a substantial secret and had to endure it for a great deal amount of time. “Bruce always had to tell a lie” Caitlyn explained to Vanity Fair, in a new issue which hits stands today “He …

Winter White’s Dominate The Vanity Fair Oscar Party

If you thought the Academy Awards red carpet was infused with impeccable fashion, then you clearly have a lot to learn. It’s been widely known that the best sartorial looks don’t commence until the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party. Once the show is complete, Hollywood’s finest head over to the after party, in search for a stiff drink and a generally good time. It’s during this time when actresses ditch their formalwear and opt for something a little more relaxed. After all, you can’t exactly showcase your best dance moves in a restricted ball gown. I like to think of the after party as a sartorial magic show. One moment celebrities are dressed in elaborate dresses and the next, they’re donning something more low key. It was evident that the color palate remained neutral, with white being a fan favorite. Stars such as Natalie Portman, who opted for a sleek Dior number, and Naomi Watts, who went with a Giorgio Armani pantsuit; all looked like sophisticated snow queens. Which look was your favorite?
