Sephora Launches New Beauty Discovery Program.

Stepping into your local Sephora is slightly similar to stepping into your local frozen yogurt joint. You’re introduced to an array of flavors and toppings, which you’re tempted to sample all at once. At least, that’s my experience when I walk into PinkBerry. But wouldn’t it be convenient if that exact sampling process mirrored the way we purchase beauty products? Thanks to the clever folks over at Sephora, it seems that’s exactly what’s about to happen; minus the FroYo. Beauty boxes aren’t exactly a novelty in this day and age. What success from Birchbox and Julep, beauty boxes seem to be spouting up everywhere. While it was announced earlier this month that Sephora would be launching their own set of beauty boxes. It makes sense considering Sephora is the leading retail branch for beauty. And as if that news wasn’t enough to make beauty fanatics hyperventilate, Sephora also announced they would be launching a section to highlight certain  innovating beauty brands. The section will showcase around 50 niche beauty brands, including brands such as Viseart, Tatcha, Nest, Sunday Riley Skincare, Skin …

Affordable Cruelty Free Beauty Products

Some of my favorite beauty products include ELF Cosmetics, NYX Cosmetics, Wet N Wild, and Yes to Carrots. It’s safe to say they’re have become a staples in my life. Not only are these products affordable, they’re also free from animal testing. I love animals! You’d have to be inhumane to not. Now that I have that out of my system here is why this article is super important. Consumers do not take the time to investigate the products they’re purchasing, as well as the companies that they’re purchasing from. Especially when you’re shopping at a major retailer. However, I am here to tell you that not all your beauty items can be found in the “animal friendly” aisle. Many cosmetic companies claim to be cruelty free, however, when it comes to money; many just slide right by and use a certain way and get around those much asked questions. Companies such as Victoria’s Secret and CoverGirl do not test in the USA, however, these companies have signed agreements with other countries that require animal testing when producing or selling these products. Therefore, they are not cruelty …

Best Drugstore Beauty Finds

There was a time when I never use to wear makeup. My makeup routine simply consisted of tinted moisturizer, mascara and tined lip balm. That’s it. To all you beauty fanatics, I apologize. I just never produced enough enthusiasm for beauty products. Talk to me about a Manolo Blahnik or Oscar de la Renta and I’ll totally jump into the conversation with an unworldly sense of vigor. However, when the conversation drifts towards beauty products, I lose all form of excitement, transitioning into stoicism. But it seems as if my makeup-free days are close to finished. It all started last year, when I headed to Sephora in order to purchase a refill of my favorite Chloé fragrance. To be clear, the main reason for my lack of love for beauty products was that I never truly understood how to use them. There are so many for multiple uses, that it became rather confusing. That all changed during my trip to Sephora. I discovered an entirely new world filled with countless possibilities. In other words, I …

Asia’s Latest Beauty Trends

Have you ever glanced at an Asian woman, or man, and wondered how they manage to conquer immaculate skin? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. That’s pretty much the reoccurring thought on everyone’s mind when they’re introduced to any person of Asian decent. Beauty trends are like lovers. They come and go just as often as the weather changes. However, like lovers, it is extremely easy to find yourself becoming attached to a certain beauty trend over time. Especially when that particular trend rewards you with a gorgeous complexion. It’s no secret that Korean’s know a thing or two when it comes to just that. A gorgeous complexion, that is. In fact, some might say they pretty much wrote the book on it. With that being said, I thought I would scout out a few trending products on the market in Korea, and pinpoint my favorites. Lip Tints  A new beauty trend that is making its way to the United States is a semi-permanent lip stain. Confused? Don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it sounds. Berrisom Lip Tint has …

The Best Fragrances For Spring

If you currently reside anywhere within the Northeast; you’ve probably had your fair share of snow this winter. Luckily, spring is just around the corner, which means the approach of warmer temps and fresh beauty ideas. To be honest, when it comes to make-up, I tend to keep it minimal. However, when it comes to my fragrances; that’s where I really excel. To me, scent is a huge essential of creating the perfect ensemble. An outfit is not quite the same without a spritz of perfume to render it into betterment. My fragrance palate is usually drawn to scents with floral and musky notes. I like a little vanilla here and there too, but nothing ignites my senses quite like peonies. The scent is so intoxicating, I could bathe in it for hours. I generally love changing my fragrances every season, and since spring is almost here, I thought I would create a list of my go-to scents for the season. Is it March 20th yet?1. Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana 2. Roses de Chloe …

Bedhead Makes An Appearance at NYFW

If you’ve been paying attention to the trends coming out of NYFW, you would know that the 70’s have been having a huge impact. Whether it’s flared denim, fringed dresses, or DVF’s signature wrap dress; the 70’s are apparently having their moment in the fashion world. Luckily for me, I happen to be something of a fan myself when it comes to the 70’s. Especially when it comes to the hair. The overall, unkept, messy look, hair had during the late 60’s, throughout the entire span of the 1970’s, is a look I’m currently obsessed with. For me, I’m pretty low-maintence when it comes to my beauty routine. I usually use tinted moisturizer, a little bit of cream blush, and if I want to get really crazy, I’ll add some mascara. But that’s pretty much where I draw the line at beauty. Don’t get me wrong, I’m obsessed with sampling new looks, but I usually keep it pretty minimal on most days. This is probably why I adore this particular trend so much. Witnessed on …

The Polls Are In, Poppy-Red is the “It” Lip Shade of 2015

Lip color. One might say it’s the premier way to liven up any outfit, while others say it’s the ultimate accessory. Whichever category you fit into, you have to admit that lipstick is, and will, always be the key essential for any makeup guru. So if you’re a true beauty connoisseur, you would have already caught onto the latest beauty craze sweeping the makeup nation. If you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, don’t sweat it. I’m here to fall you in. Celebrities and models alike have been donning a bright lip shade, both on the red carpet and around town. The shade is a mixture between bright red and neon orange; making it resemble a poppy. It’s fun. It’s fresh. And it’s totally on trend for spring. But apart from that, it appears to have won the award for the official “It” color of 2015. For good reason too! Celebrities such as Keira Knightly, Rosamund Pike, Alexa Chung, and Emma Watson, all seem to be extreme fans of the color; wearing it …
