The Best Summer Finds…Under $100!

Today marks the last day of July, which generally means the beginning of back to school shopping. However, that does not mean summer is officially over. It is usually during this time of year when a gal can score on some wicked summer deals. With that being said, I thought I would browse around and find some ultra chic pieces at incredibly low prices. What I truly love about all the items below is that they’re all completely versitile. They can be worn together to they can be worn separately. As you know, I’m a huge fan of flexibility, and any item which can be worn in different ways, is a winner in my sartorial book. PETA Becomes Hermès Shareholder

Being an avid fashion enthusiast, it can be challenging to draw the morality line at certain points. After all, everyone knows the fashion industry isn’t based on a principle of ethics, what with it’s furs and and leather goods. With that being said, it’s difficult to imagine the legendary animal rights organization, PETA, indulging in such opulence. But fear not activists, PETA is not about to sell it’s soul for a pair of alligator booties. It was announced earlier this week that the iconic organization, famous for throwing red paint on fur-wearing individuals at Fashion Week, will become a shareholder in the luxury French label, Hermès. The news comes shortly after the label’s June public investigation, which raised questions regarding the brand’s usage of inhumane production practices. It was then reported shortly after, that Jane Birkin-who the label’s iconic “Birkin Bag” was named after-insisted that her name be removed from the crocodile item. It was reported that PETA plans to take action into their own hands, by purchasing a portion of the label’s shares in order to gain access to their shareholder meetings. According to PETA …

Why Cara Delevingne’s Behavior on Good Day Sacramento Needs No Explanation

If you follow pop culture-or have moderate working wifi in your home- you would have already witnessed model/actress Cara Delevingne‘s cringe-worthy interview on Good Day Sacramento. Since the interview, many of have gone on to belittle Cara, referring to her as “rude” and “snobbish”. However, one only needs to view the interview below, to understand why Delevingne behaved the way she did. Now, I am not a supporter of bad behavior nor do I condone it for any reason whatsoever. I was brought up with an array of manners at my disposal and was continuously taught to be polite to every individual I encounter. Mind you, I am only human and there are times when I simply do not feel like being the poster child for politeness. So sue me. I can only imagine actors and actresses feel somewhat similarly. Especially when they’re forced to sit through countless of interviews, answering the exact same questions. Not mention, when the person conducting the interview can’t remember your correct name and continues to behave condescendingly. Mix all of those components together and you’re …

It’s never easy to unveil saddening news, let alone write about it. Perhaps that is why this particular post is somewhat difficult for me to construct. If you’ve been following the story pertaining to the deaths of the four African American female prisoners, then you would be informed regarding the details. Rejoice 90’s Teens! Dazed and Confused Welcomes a “Somber” Sequel.

Officially, I was a child during the 90’s. I didn’t actually reach my teens until the mid 2000’s. However, that did not mean I was banned from viewing films which were created during that period. Especially ones pertaining to teenage angst. Much to the protestation of my mother, I usually watched them with along with my older brother, who was a teenager during the 90’s. I was probably around nine when I first witnessed Richard Linklater’s Dazed and Confused: the beloved coming-of-age film revolving around a group of high school graduates during the late 70’s. To date, Richard Linklater is by far one of my favorite directors, and the film is one of my all time favorites,  Seriously, who can forget Matthew McConaughey‘s infamous creepy stash or Parker Posey’s insane hazing rituals? Ah yes, I can practically smell the cherry chapstick aroma of my spent childhood. Memories! So you can only imagine my excitement when I discovered there would be much more angst to come from the director. Although the plot is still a mystery, Linklater’s next film, Everybody …
