Call Me Caitlyn: Bruce Jenner Fully Transitions Into a Female

It’s virtually impossible to be uninformed on what goes on inside The Kardashian household. What with social media, and a popular reality show, there seems to be no hiding place for The Kardashian’s nowadays, and many would argue; that;s just the way they prefer it. However, when it was reported last year, that Bruce Jenner, a member of the infamous Kardashian clan, would be undergoing a gender reassignment surgery, many speculated whether such an ordeal was yet another publicity stunt or mere fact.

As it turned out, it was the ladder. Once it was officially confirmed, Bruce Jenner, now known as Caitlyn Jenner, took to television last month, to explain his decision on a two-hour special with Diane Sawyer. Once the special aired, it was evident that Jenner was not just another Gold medal Olympian, but a man who appeared to be suffering with a substantial secret and had to endure it for a great deal amount of time.

“Bruce always had to tell a lie” Caitlyn explained to Vanity Fair, in a new issue which hits stands today “He was always living that lie. Every day, he always had a secret. Caitlyn has no secrets”

The photoshoot, which was shot by iconic photographer, Annie Leibowitz, features Jenner’s full transition into a female. Although there is a wide amount of controversy revolving around this particular story, one has to realize how brave Caitlyn is. There are a vast amount of individuals who are undergoing the same situation as Caitlyn. However, it’s safe to say that many of these individuals, as well as their families, are not having to experience it in the public eye. I have to commend the Kardashian’s for handling such a situation with the utmost amount of grace.

The Vanity Fair issue is now on stands.

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor).
