Derek Zoolander and Hansel Own Paris Fashion Week

Get your best pose ready, cause it’s a walk-off!

Okay, I’m not going to lie, Zoolander is by far one of my favorite films of all time. No, it wasn’t on the Academy’s radar, and sure, it’s totally ridiculous, but no matter how many times I’ve watched it; I always find myself laughing at the exact same scenes. Honestly, where are you going to find quotes like “Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness, is the essence of beauty” or “Mugatu is so hot right now he could take a crap, wrap it in tinfoil, put a couple fish hooks on it and sell it to Queen Elizabeth as earrings”?

It’s comedic gold!

So you can imagine my utter excitement, when both Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), and former rival, Hansel (Owen Wilson), walked the finale at Valentino’s Fall 2015 RTW, looking every bit like the handsome male models they’re not. If you haven’t already been informed, the comedians showed up to the show to announce the sequel to their 2001 cult classic; Zoolander 2. It only took fourteen years, but yes;  it’s finally happening.

Taking place in Rome, the film will begin production during the spring, and will feature veterans Ben Stiller as Derek, Owen Wilson as Hansel, Will Farrell as Mugatu, and Christine Taylor as Matilda. The film is also rumored to star Penelope Cruz, Jonah Hill, and Cara Delevingne.

Expect tons of “Blue Steel” and an immense amount of “really ridiculously good-looking male models”

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor). If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to direct them to the email below. Happy Reading!
