Dan Stevens Is Disney’s Newest Prince

With the release of Disney’s live-action Cinderella merely a week away, it’s become apparent that I’m undergoing a Disney Princess obsession at the moment.

But let’s just keep that between us.

There’s a certain fantastical nostalgia that comes with these sorts of films, which often leaves me feeling as though anything is possible with the flick of a wand. Thankfully for the five-year-old buried within me, I can now look forward to two more live-action Disney films. It was announced earlier last year that there will be a live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, as well as The Little Mermaid, which was said to be directed by Sofia Coppola.

It was released two weeks ago that Harry Potter veteran, Emma Watson, will star as Belle, which only leaves questions as to who will play her beast. Well, it would appear that the guessing game if officially over. Earlier today, Vogue broke the news that Matthew Crawley himself, aka Dan Stevens, will play the part of the temperamental beast in the live-action adaptation. Stevens is the youngest actor to take on the role as a Disney Prince, but something tells Stevens, and those smoldering blue eyes of his, will do just fine.

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor).
