If you’ve been paying attention to the trends coming out of NYFW, you would know that the 70’s have been having a huge impact. Whether it’s flared denim, fringed dresses, or DVF’s signature wrap dress; the 70’s are apparently having their moment in the fashion world. Luckily for me, I happen to be something of a fan myself when it comes to the 70’s. Especially when it comes to the hair.
The overall, unkept, messy look, hair had during the late 60’s, throughout the entire span of the 1970’s, is a look I’m currently obsessed with. For me, I’m pretty low-maintence when it comes to my beauty routine. I usually use tinted moisturizer, a little bit of cream blush, and if I want to get really crazy, I’ll add some mascara. But that’s pretty much where I draw the line at beauty. Don’t get me wrong, I’m obsessed with sampling new looks, but I usually keep it pretty minimal on most days. This is probably why I adore this particular trend so much.
Witnessed on Fall 2015 runways such as Alexander Wang and Creatures of the Wind, the 70’s rocker look appears to be making a comeback. This couldn’t have come at a better time because I recently chopped off all my hair and restored my Jane Birkin fringe, which grew out during the summer. With that being said, my hair looks best when it’s messy, and slightly wavy. To achieve the look, I spray texturing spray all over my hair (I love TRESemme’s Perfectly (un)Done Texturizing spray), after I’ve gotten out of the shower, and blow dry it until it’s slightly dry, and then I let the rest dry naturally. It’s a look which takes literally a minute to achieve.
Perhaps it’s the reason why I love the look so much.
