Military Meets Minimalist at Jason Wu Fall 2015 RTW

The list of my favorite designers is overflowing and expanding every day. On that extensive list is none other than Jason Wu. With a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic, as well as an immense attention to detail; Jason Wu always takes the cake when it comes to crafting an impeccable collection. This time around, during the unveiling of his Fall 2015 RTW collection, the designer did not disappoint. As the lights went down at the designer’s Fall 2015 RTW show, during New York Fashion Week, all eyes were heavily locked on the beautiful ensembles which walked down the runway.

Although the color palate mainly consisted of muted basics, (deep greens, blacks, grey’s, beige, and white), the overall collection was anything but boring. Leather played a huge part in the collection, accenting asymmetrical skirts and dresses, while fur shawls acted as an unexpected, but nevertheless stylish attribute. The entire collection was a combination of minimalist-chic meets utility-driven glamour. That is what I love so much about this extremely talented designer.

His collections are always consistent and deliver every time around. It’s not even spring and Mr. Wu has me begging for fall already. Wu definitely makes it difficult for other designers to even come close to reaching his level of brilliance. It’s almost not even fair.

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor). If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to direct them to the email below. Happy Reading!
