Why Taylor Swift is Swiftly Becoming a Street Style Icon!

Remember when Taylor Swift use to show up at award shows donning some sparkly, princess-inspired creation, and her street style consisted mainly of beanies, checkered blouses and vintage-inspired summer dresses? Flash forward to the present and it appears that the country songbird has ditched the good girl sparkle and upgraded to a sexier alternative. If you’ve been paying attention, which I have, then you would have noticed the street style pics of Taylor strutting around NYC in some of the chicest ensembles to date. Her red carpet style has altered as well. Lately when we see Taylor at award shows, the glitter and tulle has vanished.

In it’s place are designs which can only be described as chic and sophisticated. Although I adore Ms. Swift, (these days you can find me reciting every lyric from her latest album, RED), she has never been on my list of favorite celebrity fashionistas. But somewhere within the past two years, that seems to have altered. Now, when I scroll down the list of my favorite celebrity style icons, Taylor’s name is smack dab in the middle of Jane Birkin and Alexa Chung. Whether it’s to promote her new album, (which is rumored to be released this November), or the fact she’s been hanging out with models Karlie Kloss and Carla Delevingne on a daily basis. I’m not entirely sure.

Either way, it’s a phase of Taylor’s I can definitely get use to!

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor).
