Designer Spotlight: Altuzarra Spring 14′ RTW

I’m a huge fan of the simplistic elegance a designer manages to bring to a collection. You know, sophistication meets ease with just a slight hint of androgyny. Not many designers can pull it off  and there seem to be only a  handful who can. One of those designers goes by the name of Joseph Alturzarra. I have been a fan of Altuzarra for awhile and celebs like Jessica Alba and Sandra Bullock are just among the many who share my extreme love for the designer.

For his Spring 14′ RTW collection, Altuzarra had no difficulty incorporating that effortless grace he’s so famous for. Models flowed down the runway in elegant ensembles which might leave one envisioning the romantic isles of Greece or the south of France. White men shirts were effortlessly tucked into mid-length skirts made from shantung silks and soft cottons. Patterns were kept minimal with only the occasional French ticking stripes on a blouse or skirt. It’s a collection perfect for spring but even more appropriate for summer as well. All in all, Altuzarra definitely understands the mind of a women who wants to be sexy without having to sacrifice they’re comfort.

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor). If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to direct them to the email below. Happy Reading!
