Five Trends to Start Wearing Now!

Now that spring is almost upon us, it’s time to start considering the clothing trends that come with it. I’m super excited because it would appear, (if Vogue, Bazaar, and W magazine are accurate), we’ve got some glorious looks to choose from this season. But rather than list every trend that came out of NYFW this year, I decided to minimize the list to only five of the best trends. So without delay, ere are five trends you should be wearing now! 1. Wide-Leg Trousers-Seen on the runways of BCBG Max Azria & Rosie Assoulin, this trend is a chic throwback to the 40’s. Think of Katherine Hepburn in the Philadelphia Story or Veronica Lake in The Blue Dahlia. The look is perfect for spring and utterly comfortable. Take a cue from the BCBG Max Azria S/S 14′ Collection and pair the look with a crop top and heels. Or, if you would rather go a little more casual, pair the trousers with a fitted blazer, gold jewelry and wedges. 2. Bomber Jackets- This look is …

Unusual You: The Eccentric’s of Milan Fashion Week

We’re use to seeing somewhat peculiar forms of clothing during the numerous stages of fashion week. Honestly, where else are you going to find someone donning a SpongeBob skirt paired with neon green ankle booties? Odd’s are, nowhere within 20 mile radius of a catwalk. Truth be told, I’m actually a huge enthusiast for the eccentrically-chic game changers of fashion, and during Milan Fashion Week; there was plenty of it to go around. After all, this is what fashion is all about right?

Moschino Fall RTW 14′ Highlights

When you think of couture, does the thought of fast food oddly enter your mind? The apparent answer would be no, since the two have no business being placed together let alone uttered in the same sentence. Newly appointed Creative Director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott, would highly disagree with you. It was at the brand’s unreeling of it’s Fall 14′ RTW collection where the idea of fast food and couture unusually crossed paths. Models strode down the runway donning McDonald’s signature colors of red and yellow as if they were the fast food chains’ very own mascots. At a quick glance, one might be a bit hesitate as to wonder what Scott was thinking. But when you take a second glance, you can’t help but come to understand the brilliance behind the collection. McDonald’s wasn’t the only pop culture sighting. Infamous cartoon favorite SpongeBob Sqaurepants was present in the collection as well. Who would have thought Spongebob and leather would make such an originally chic paring? Lets be honest, it’s not a vision we all ponder …

One Jacket, Two Ways

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have more exciting plans than I do. Recently, my Friday nights have consisted of Chinese takeout and multiple hours of Netflix screening. What can I say, endless episodes of Orange is the New Black have me hooked. Since I haven’t done one of these in awhile, I thought it was about time I started it back up. For this “One Item, Two Ways” post, I decided to use a 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket which I think goes perfectly with almost anything in ones closet. I chose to do a West Coast, East Thing since I’m a fan of both styles. Preferably, I feel that the West Coast has a more casual feel to it which is exactly how I styled it. Living in the East Coast, I’ve noticed one’s idea of “casual” is a bit more sophisticated. Either way, I love the outcome of both and would totally wear either one.

Liven Up Your Space With Jonathan Adler

Apart from my immense love for fashion, I’m a huge advocate for home decor as well. Anything that incorporates elegance with a slight nod to eccentricity is right up my alley. One designer who seems to understand this particular method is Mr. Jonathan Adler. I’m absolutely in love with Adler’s talent to combine sophistication and quirkiness into one, stylish package. This isn’t a collaboration post, and I’m not gaining anything by writing it. I’m simply an avid believer for fashionable home decor, and Adler is among the rare designers to creates just that. I absolutely adore the way he incorporates unique prints and color into all his designs. Whether he’s creating original throw pillows or modish comforters; Adler seems to have a tight grasp on taste. If you are searching for simplistic ways to add a little life into your home or office; any piece from Adler will surely do the trick!   1. Throw Pillows, $145 & $135, 2. Golden Vase $1,350, 3. Petal Mirror $1,150, 4. Chair $2,250, 5. Table Lamp $360, 6. …

Weekend Style Favorite: Lupita Nyong’o

One of my favorite Oscar nominee’s this year is the gorgeous and talented Lupita Nyong’o. Her raw and visceral performance in 12 Yeats A Slave brought me to complete tears. Not to mention the fact that she’s been killing it on each red carpet she has walked since her multiple nominations. The BAFTA Awards were no different. Lupita decided to wear a beautiful, emerald Dior Couture gown. Lupita kept it simple with the accessories, pairing the gown with gold cuffs and belt. The finishing results; utter perfection!
