Baby It’s Cold Outside: Stylish Winter Outfits to Keep You Warm

If you live anywhere in the Northeast and have  glanced outside your window lately: it’s evident that you’ll spot portions of snow somewhere. Not to mention how incredibly low the temperatures have been. Yesterday here in NYC, it was literally 9 degree’s by 9 o’clock. Now I’m all for a little snowman building but when the temps are this intense, I’d rather be inside by the fire devouring my latest issue of Bazaar. But regardless of how cold the air is outside, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to sacrifice your style. One tip I have is to layer, layer, layer! I know it might make you look bulky but there are actual ways to layer without looking like a large marshmallow. For example, search for silk camisoles to wear underneath your sweaters or knits. Silk is one of those fabrics that warm to your body so you can be certain it will keep you nice and cozy. Also, search for coats with added lining to them I have made the mistake in the past …

Dior Homme Commercial: Director’s Cut

Merely mentioning the name Dior is enough to send any devoted fashionista into a state of momentary comatose. But when you attach a name like Robert Pattinson along to the brand, it simply amplify’s that hysteria. I’ve been a fan of both for a while. I fell in love with Dior at the age of 13, while I was glancing through an issue of Vogue and spotted models strutting down a runway in pastel colored, ball gowns designed  by the brand’s then Creative Director; Hedi Slimane. To be fairly honest, it was that precise moment that sparked my vast interest in fashion. So I guess you could say Dior sort of paved the way for my utter fashion enthusiasm. As for Mr. Pattinson, I pretty much fell head over heels for the handsome Brit the same way every other girl did; while watching Twilight. You could only imagine my joy when I discovered the brand chose Rob to become the face of their Dior Homme fragrance. Below is the actual Director’s Cut of the sexy/sophisticated …

My Pre-Fall 2014 Favorites

Even though winter has just begun, I’ve got autumn on my mind. As much as I adore spring, I can’t help but love fall even more. One reason in particular is the intense amount of fashion that goes hand in hand with the season. I’ll admit that despite my complete love for floral dresses and pastel hues, there’s nothing I love more than the humdrum simplicity of basic silhouettes and muted colors which are so ever present come fall. Just glancing at the many Pre-Fall 2014 collections gets me excited for fall and makes we want it to arrive sooner. Bit since we have precisely 7 more months to go until the arrival of September, I decided to compile a list of some the best Pre-Fall looks to satisfy me until then. Enjoy!

Best of the Best: The Golden Globes Best Looks!

It’s that time of year again. The time when Hollywood’s crème de la crème dresses up and heads out for a night filled with champagne and awards. Now I’ll be honest; I didn’t watch the Golden Globes last night. In fact, I only tuned into E’s Red Carpet show and resorted to watching New Girl on Netflix afterwards. What can I say, I’m not really interested in discovering who wins whichever award for whichever category. When it comes to award shows, I’m solely interested in the fashion and there was nothing short of it last night. It was pretty tough to sift through only the best dressed looks of the night but after an hour of searching; I finally came up with the paramount of looks. If you feel that I missed someone who was absolutely superior in style; please feel free to email me or comment below and I’ll make sure to add them on the list. Enjoy! All Choked Up: Winter’s Hottest Trend is A Chic Throwback to The 90’s

Throughout the years we’ve seen trends come and go. Some were excitingly chic while other’s weren’t as memorable. One winter trend that has been causing a riot is the return of the ever-so-chic choker. You might have thought the trend dies out like most trends from the 90’s but you be wrong. This time around the trend takes on more than just the simplistic piece of thread around one’s neck. As seen on 2014 Pre-Fall runway shows such as Hermès and YSL, the choker’ has being reinvented with colorful jewels and beautiful pendants. For a gal that was born in the midst of the 90’s, this particular trend is one I would be willing to stick my neck out for; pun intended! From Top Left: Velvet Blue Choker-Bisou Bijoux Ariela, $165, Silver Choker-Intermix, $118, Faceted Stone Choker-Mango, $70, Spike Choker-Open Ceremony, $210, Crystal Cocktail Choker-YSL, $4,895

My Winter Essentials

Generally, I’m a huge summer enthusiast. I love shorts, maxi dresses, and overflowing chic scarfs. Basically everything that sums up summer, I’m a fan. But lately I’ve been anticipating the arrival of winter ever since the Christmas decorations starting going up. In my opinion, I feel that A/W collections are ten times better than the summer ones. Just take a look at Phillip Lim’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Can you say insanely chic? But as much as my new found love for winter suddenly increases, unfortunately the temperature decreases. With that being said, winter essentials are a vital part of the season; especially since I will be moving to NYC shortly. So I’ve complied a bunch of my favorite winter items which I feel are a requirement in order to fully survive the cold days that are ahead of us. Enjoy!   1.
