The Winter Whites Gala Best Dressed

I’m a sucker for any event that features major red carpet style. Simply bring on the ball gowns and I’m completely game for whatever activities are on the agenda. But when that event is manufactured for a good cause, my excitement only escalates further. On Tuesday, The Duke of Cambridge (aka Prince William) was accompanied by some of the largest names in Hollywood and the music industry for The 2013 Winter Whites Gala. The gala was thrown in honor to support Centrepoint’s mission to end youth homelessness and build a brighter future for the homeless in London as well as North East of England. Among the stylish guests were Colin Firth and wife Livia Giuggioli, Michelle Dockery, Taylor Swift, and Bon Jovi (who sang an unforgettable rendition of “Livin’ on a Prayer” along with The Duke of Cambridge and Taylor Swift). To learn who wore what, check out my fabulous list of the best dressed below. Thanksgiving Decor Done Right!

I couldn’t be more happy that the holidays have finally arrived. To be quite honest, the sounds of Bing Crosby singing White Christmas have been bouncing off the walls of my room since August. It’s safe to say my roommates are incredibly sick of carols by now. But apart from singing along to carols and dinning with family for the ultimate holiday meal; there’s another part of the tradition I adore; decorating.  Now I’m not just talking about the usual, twinkle lights and garland everyone seems to put up every year. When I do holiday decor, I turn to Home & Garden to help me out. But with cooking and preparing for your dreaded In-Laws to arrive, getting your home to resemble anything out of Home & Garden can be a bit difficult. Luckily for you, it doesn’t have to be. With just a few simplistic D.I.Y tips, you too can be the envy of all your family this Thanksgiving. Who knows; you might even impress those annoying In-Laws.

Hair Crazed: The “Pixie” Cut

Hairstyles come and go. But every once and awhile there comes a certain style that stands the test of time, generating a ton of attention and leaving us rendering in our tracks. One particular hairstyle that appears to be producing quite an uproar is none other than the beloved “Pixie” Cut. A-list celebrities such as Charlize Theron, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Goodwin, and even Jennifer Lawrence have all been spotted donning the iconic hairstyle. The actual style dates back to the 60’s when legendary hairstylist, Vidal Sassoon, chopped off actress, Mia Farrow’s, blonde locks for her role in Rosemary’s Baby. Since then, the renowned hairstyle has grown quite popular with models and Hollywood’s finest over the years. Not too long ago, I actually tried out the look myself. A year and a half ago, after glancing at a picture of iconic model Twiggy; I decided that I wanted to try out a similar haircut. So I waltzed into my hairdresser’s studio the very next day and had her chop off 7 inches of my light-brown hair. …

Designer Spotlight: Hermès Spring 2014 RTW

It usually takes a lot for me to go weak in the knees over a new collection. It usually varies from time to time and is hardly ever consistent. I do know that there has to be a certain, special spark that ignites my fashion sense within; causing me to then foam at the mouth and then collapse. I kid of course. I don’t I’ve actually collapsed over a designer collection but I have hyperventilated…slightly. One of those suddenoments of shock happened to come while I was gazing upon the creations from Hermès Spring 2014 RTW collection.  Models gracefully waltzed down the runway wearing gorgeous ensembles that looked as if they belonged on a 1940’s Hollywood starlet vacationing in the jungle. The show took place in the Orangerie et Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris which definitely set the tone for the luxurious designs, which consisted of relaxed pieces in a beautiful palette of teals, greens, peach, and white. The entire collection was kept uncomplicated and laid-back, with minimal prints here and there. My favorite piece in the entire …
