The Return of Plaid

There has been quite the debate when it comes to plaid. Some hate it and others welcome it with open arms. I’ll be the first to admit that it can occasionally be hard to pull the particular trend off without looking like a schoolgirl or Scotsman. But leave it to the fashion devotees of today to find the appropriate way to feature the look without looking like either of the above. Instead, fashion bloggers and fashionistas everywhere seem to have the look down; pairing it with other fall trends such as cable knits or leather. I’m quite the fan of the look. I feel it’s a nostalgic nod to those 90’s filled nights of “My So Called Life”, “Freaks and Geeks”, and “Clueless”. Ah yes, who could forget the infamous Angela Chase who practically lived in plaid shirts and jeans or Cher Horwitz who went with a schoolgirl a. Pure and unadulterated memories! Three Ways to Wear Turtlenecks

When I was young, I used to hate turtlenecks. The suffocating sensation I’d get while wearing them always bothered me, and I always thought I looked incredibly odd. But between childhood and now, something evidently changed. Now, I seem to gravitate towards the sweater and have a rather large collection. But not everyone shares my love for the turtleneck. In fact; many actually hate it and I don’t blame them. Turtlenecks can be rather tricky to wear. Too tight and they make you appear as if you’re choking. Too loose and the can make you look dumpy. But when worn right way, the turtleneck can actually be really chic. Remember Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face? Now that fall is well on it’s on its way, sweaters are popping up everywhere. From cable-knits to oversized; sweaters are a complete must for this season and why not try your luck with a turtleneck? For some inspiration on how to style your turtleneck, just check out the three outfits I’ve put together below!   FROM LEFT: Berry Cashmere …

Weekend Style Fave: Kerry Washington in Prabal Gurung

Kerry Washington is no stranger to fashion. In fact, she pretty much owns it every time she steps out for a red carpet. It is that specific reason why she is this week’s Weekend Style Fave. The Scandal star showed up for a tapping of the David Letterman Show in a gorgeous floral Prabal Gurung dress. She paired the look with pointed-toe Louboutins and a stylish black clutch. Final results; absolute chicness.
