Overalls Baby!

Forget what you’ve heard about overalls being for children, simply etch it out of your mind. Regardless of what you’ve heard or may think, overalls aren’t just for toddlers who are oblivious to the world of fashion (unless you’re Suri Cruise in which case fashion is pretty much a daily understanding). It would seem that adults have been rocking this trend way before toddlers themselves. Dating all the way back to the late 60’s and making a comeback in the 90’s (Joey from Dawson’s Creek anyone?), this trend has now decided to showcase itself in the present. Whether it comes in the short shorts form or pants, this trend it utterly original with obvious notes of chic.

Overalls Baby! Here’s a perfect example of how overalls can be incredibly chic. To give off a sophisticated vibe pair your overalls with striped tee, structured bag, and a pair of killer ankle booties.

Overalls Baby! For a more modern take on the trend, go for a black pair fully crafted from leather. Add a fitted blazer, some awesome jewelry, and low pump heels. The entire look simply screams futuristic.

Overalls Baby! This is a fun take on the global trend, mixing vintage and contemporary. Pair your overalls with a tee, belt, unique sunnies, bangles, and animal print clutch. To pull the entire look together go with a exotic piece of jewelry.

Overalls Baby! Here is an example of a more laidback version of the trend. This look is also perfect for summer as well. To achieve this look or something like it pair your overalls with a white blazer and flats.

Overalls Baby! This a mixture of both casual and chic. The overalls are slightly breeching the “boyfriend” genre but still look fitted at the same time. Seeing as summer is almost around the corner, ditch the faux fur and add a tee instead. Finish off the look with a beanie, Keds, and killer sunnies.

I am a journalistic enthusiast, born and bred in Washington, D.C. When I'm not busy meticulously constructing posts, I can be found burying my head in an epic novel, cooking a delicious mess in the kitchen, scouring local thrift stores, and spending way too much time binging on Netflix (Arrested Development anyone?). I cannot live without a good playlist (Billy Holiday is preferred), working wifi (sometimes not always working), and Dunkin Donuts coffee (caramel swirl is my go-to flavor). If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to direct them to the email below. Happy Reading!
