Get The Look: Michelle Willams

Get The Look: Michelle Willams by sandrarose featuring lucky brand handbags I’m such a fan of Michelle Williams for many reasons apart from her impeccable acting. Her effortless style with subtle hints of sophistication is both timeless as well as classic. The look above showcases Michelle’s style perfectly without being too over-the-top like many actresses today. As much as I adore being different and versatile in my clothing, there is also a side of me that appreciates the simplicity as well. Here we have Michelle attending the Kate Young for Target Collection (who just so happens to be her stylist as well) looking rather chic. The sheer polkadot blouse mixed with the white blazer and satin shorts really pull the whole look together. The Brian Atwood pumps are perfect for this look because they make you appear taller and which accents the high-waisted shorts nicely. I decided to ditch the black clutch and substitute a style from Lucky Brand because I felt that this outfit was a bit too monotone for my taste. The clutch adds some color …

Coachella Fashion Round-Up

As Coachella came to a close last weekend, unfortunately so did the fabulous fashion. I’m always such a fan of music festival fashion. The eccentricity (although not required) is most certainly preferred. Despite some striving a little to high to get noticed, when music festival fashion is done right, it can be ever-so rewarding. I know I’m a week late in documenting these favorites down but cut me some slack, I’m a starving fashion student who does work for a living. So below are a couple of my fashion favorites this year at Coachella, some famous others not. However, that doesn’t make them any less chic. Also, if you were lucky enough to attend Coachella this year or know someone who did, feel free to send me their picks of what they wore. I would love to include it into this post. I’m a huge fan of VS model Alesssandra Ambrisio. Every time she is captured out and about, she always looks flawless regardless of what she is wearing. Girlfriend could make a trash bag …

One Skirt-Three Ways

One Skirt-Three Ways by sandrarose featuring pendant jewelry Pencil skirts are universally flattering. They make any figure look long and lean paired with a killer set of heels. If only there was a way we ladies could wear them other than for work. Luckily there is. Many woman do not realize that pencil skirts aren’t just for the workplace. There are numerous way you can incorporate this chic piece of clothing into any outfit. That is why I chose a pencil skirt for this week’s One Item-Three Ways. This floral Project D pencil skirt is absolutely perfect for spring as well as summer. Playful– If playful what you’re trying to achieve then there’s really only one rule-have fun! Mix patterns together, add funky jewelry, incorporate bright colors and fun accessories. Just remember when you’re mixing patterns, stay in the same color spectrum. Edgy- Many people think that in order to be edgy, you have to resemble a Black Sabbath member. Fortunately that is not the case. For this look I chose to use a light …

Celebrity Style Fave: Diane Kruger

Celebrity Style Fave: Diane Kruger by sandrarose featuring patchwork bags I’m a huge fan of one Ms. Diane Kruger. I find her urban cool style with notes of Parisian chic to be extremely refreshing and original. Kruger’s stylist, Simone Harouche (whose clients are among Nicole Richi and Miley Cyrus) loves to mix prints and bold accessories. “I always start with a standout item and build around it with simplistic pieces in contemporary hues” Harouche states when dressing her clients, Kruger being one of them. It is a very smart moto to live by when you’re a stylist because who in the world wants to be ordinary? Clearly, not Kruger because she seems to be kicking ass with every piece of clothing she wears, on the red carpet and off. To achieve her look, follow Harouche’s advise above and start with a bold piece whether it be an accessory, skirt, dress, or a pair of killer heels. Throw in some sophistication by searching for classic silhouettes with unique patterns and color pallets for that mix of …

Designer to Watch: Cushnie et Ochs

Designer to Watch: Cushnie by sandrarose featuring cushnie et ochs Designers come and go but every so often one comes along with an aesthetic that is beyond brilliant as well as refreshing. That is said to be the case with innovative brand Cushnie et Ochs. Creative duo Carly Cushnie & Michelle Ochs have designed a label that is modern and sophisticated with a touch of edge. The details consist of racer-backs, leather patches and other sleek touches which sets an original and distinctive tone for the brand. I like to think of the entire label of “East Coast Sophistication” because in general, that’s exactly what it is. It is a label crafted specifically for that modern New York female who wants a bit of edge thrown into her daily wardrobe every now and then.

Overalls Baby!

Forget what you’ve heard about overalls being for children, simply etch it out of your mind. Regardless of what you’ve heard or may think, overalls aren’t just for toddlers who are oblivious to the world of fashion (unless you’re Suri Cruise in which case fashion is pretty much a daily understanding). It would seem that adults have been rocking this trend way before toddlers themselves. Dating all the way back to the late 60’s and making a comeback in the 90’s (Joey from Dawson’s Creek anyone?), this trend has now decided to showcase itself in the present. Whether it comes in the short shorts form or pants, this trend it utterly original with obvious notes of chic. Here’s a perfect example of how overalls can be incredibly chic. To give off a sophisticated vibe pair your overalls with striped tee, structured bag, and a pair of killer ankle booties. For a more modern take on the trend, go for a black pair fully crafted from leather. Add a fitted blazer, some awesome jewelry, and low …

Flattering Swimwear for Every Figure

Flattering Swimwear for Every Figure by sandrarose featuring dorothy perkins Ah yes, it’s that glorious time again to start shopping for swimwear!  With Memorial Day just around the corner I thought I would showcase some awesome swimwear pieces for every figure. Although it might not be a favorite shopping experience for everyone, once you’ve figure out what looks best on you; it can become quite fun. With some help, you too can look so-so chic in almost anything. Curvy Girls– You don’t have to be a size 2 to rock some incredible swimwear pieces. You also don’t have to stick with one piece either. Look for halter tops that support your chest as well as flatter it. Black is always slimming but if you do not choose to go with that color choose a cobalt, magenta, or dark red. Also, beware of crazy prints because they will only add more curves which is probably something you want to steer clear from. Slim and Small Bust Girls- My mom always says I have two backs because I’m flat in …
