A Classic Favorite: Gloves

A Classic Favorite: Gloves by sandrarose featuring lanvin I’ve recently been in a rut where I’ve been transported back in time to a place where class was visible everywhere you looked. Unfortunately, that time has long gone and has been replaced by something entirely different. Gloves have been a longstanding accessory that always seems to add a bit of flare. I’ll admit with complete embarrassment, whenever I wear leather gloves; I feel a bit like a motorcross racer, bad ass and tough. When the gloves come off, I turn back into a girly and bubbly mess. This particular trend was a big hit at Paris Fashion Week and for good reason. It’s a timeless classic and when worn correctly; can really make a statement. When choosing the right pair, you want to steer clear of looking like a debutant at her coming-out party. Look for pairs that are unique with a bit of attitude. I really like the red Valentino pair above with studs. Whichever pair you decide to go with, there’s no doubt you’ll …

Alexa Chung for Maje S/S 2013

If you know me at all than you would know that my love for British darling, Alexa Chung goes beyond words. Her quirky sense of humor and style are what drew me to her like a bee to honey. There is something so effortless about her and her style that it’s inevitable not to fall in love with her. When I found out that the doe-eyed beauty would be returning for a second season with the Parisian brand, Maje; I was so excited. For all of you who are not familiar with the brand, it’s a lovely collection which emulates the ultimate chic Parisian woman. The brand Maje is made up of three words, feminine, simplistic, and bold. It’s a very effortless brand that is almost spot on with Chung’s personal style. For the new S/S 2013 campaign, designer Judith Milgrome was very much inspired by Pop Art and Andy Warhol’s factory. As Alexa lounges gracefully in Mod dresses and combat boots behind a simple backdrop; it’s evident to see the inspirations behind Judith’s collection. The entire …

Best of Paris Fashion Week

I’ve been a little lazy recently and therefore have not uploaded a full post. I blame it on the incredibly brisk weather that has suddenly swept through the D.C area. I kid you not, as soon as I walked out of my apt and onto the street; I felt like a living and breathing icicle. Thankfully, I decided to stock up on warm winter materials back in September so I’m pretty much covered (pun intended). Winter used to be my favorite season but seeing as we haven’t had a proper winter in forever here in the D.C and it’s finally catching up to us; I’m reconsidering. But I’m not here to chit chat about the weather so let’s get down to business. Paris Fashion Week is just wrapping up and I thought what better way to say “au revoir” than posting a couple pics of the best dressed ladies? This year, the fashionistas were not holding back and why should they? Decked head to toe in intricate and unique pieces that would make the highest fashion devotee …

Designer to Watch: Dion Lee

One glance at Dion Lee’s collections and it’s evident that the designer is inspired by the future. With geometric patterns and silhouettes, it plays out like something from a Tron movie. That’s not entirely bad seeing how futuristic clothing appears to be a large trend to watch in 2013. I’m actually drawn to apparel of this nature. I find it refreshing and modern. The Sydney born native moved from his hometown in Austrailia to London for his Fall collection. Lee has quickly made a name for himself in the fashion industry and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Which has forever secured him a spot on fashion’s most watched list.
